Looking for a day trip? Visit LaGrange, Ga., where visitors can find a quaint downtown, interesting architecture, gardens and even a biblical museum.

LaGrange's Lafayette Square honors Marquis de Lafayette, a Frenchman who fought in the American Revolutionary War.

The Hills and Dales Estate in LaGrange, which is near Callaway Gardens, is another good place to to see azaleas and other flowers.

The Explorations in Antiquity Center, a museum of daily life in biblical times, is a journey into history that includes reconstructions of discoveries from 2000 BC through the first century AD. Visitors can also experience a full, 15-item biblical feast with unleavened bread, olives, lentil soup, chicken kebabs, hummus, eggplant and a fruit puree made of figs, dates and raisins.

The LaGrange Art Museum is housed in an 1892 Victorian building that was originally the county jail.

Pine Mountain, just down the road from LaGrange, has a bustling Main Street made for strolling and browsing in one-of-a-kind shops.

The Bakery and Cafe at Rose Cottage in Pine Mountain is a charming eatery.
