A food tour of Savannah, Georgia.

PAULA DEEN of the Lady & Sons restaurant (and Food Network fame, of course) hands out biscuits to customers waiting in line for her home cooking. Deen's place is often travelers' first dining stop on a tour of Savannah.

A HUNGRY CUSTOMER serves himself from the Lady & Sons buffet, where fried chicken is one of the main attractions.

THE MANSION at Forsyth Park, a hotel and spa, is home to Chef Darin Sehnert's 700 Kitchen Cooking School.

MRS. WILKES' place no longer takes in boarders, but you can re-create some of her well-known recipes from the cookbook that was published in her honor. (The restaurant in its old space is open for lunch only.)

RIVER STREET features bars, shops and restaurants in Savannah's historic district.

MERCER HOUSE gained fame as one of the significant sites in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

FORSYTH PARK is the largest of Savannah's squares. "Forrest Gump" hung out there.

PULASKI MONUMENT is a feature of Monterey Square in Savannah. The city is built on a grid of squares, and you'll get quite a workout from walking them.
