Evolution of style
Myra Wright says her home's style has evolved over the 11 years she has lived there.

!["My interior decorator [Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward Woods of Interiors by Decorating Den] pushed me out of my comfort zone with the use of color after our first project," admits Wright. "I was very nervous about giving her the reigns on my first project but after seeing the results I was comfortable with giving up the control. I was so impressed with her ability to capture my own unique personality and style. She helped me create my own oasis."](https://images.ajc.com/resizer/v2/SLMDC52ZUI4AZ5UV2SJOCPNBCQ.jpg?auth=3c690d4d521f00c68974cd91de2c6f7325bba031fce15a6ec3a5970c4bd45f4e&width=3840&height=2611&smart=true)
!["The inspiration for the colors in my home [came from] two paintings [by] the late William Tolliver," shares Wright. "One is called "Nude Solitude" and the other "The Blues" (pictured in the living room). He painted with very bold colors."](https://images.ajc.com/resizer/v2/RKMIVEKEWS6GS6YNDYC3F5VCIY.jpg?auth=fe021b370ff0798a2a146b15f99bc9df840ff32f9b9313585e45bb2a20713e3a&width=3840&height=5959&smart=true)
!["This past December, [for] the first time since I have been living in Georgia, my parents visited me for an entire month," shares Wright. "I can remember thinking how blessed I was celebrating Christmas with my parents [who] are in their 80s. We sat in the living room with the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve singing carols with my baby grand player piano and drinking hot chocolate. I will cherish and remember always our time together." "I moved to Georgia to obtain my master's degree in an accelerated one-year program. My intention was to return to New Jersey the following year, but I ended-up falling for the southern hospitality and lifestyle," admits Myra Wright, pictured in her formal dining room. She considers the home's decor style to be "English Traditional."
