IN CHINLE, Ariz., the National Monument at Canyon DeChelly hold thousands of ruins from Navajo tribes.

TOURS AND camping are permitted in the canyon, but having a Navajo guide is highly recommended.

THE "WHITE HOUSE" is one of the canyon's attractions; it appears white but is actually yellow from a layer of corn pollen.

GUIDES CAN tell vistors some of the Navajo lore that goes with the canyon.
