Niantic has some big plans for Pokémon Go, including possibly being supported by dedicated AR headsets like the Hololens.

Pokémon Go is about to be more addictive thanks to some upcoming features Niantic has planned for the popular mobile game.

Speaking with Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke teases the ability to trade Pokemon with other players by saying “it’s kind of a core element.” While Hanke didn’t go into specifics as to how that would be done, he does say trading Pokémon ties in with one of Pokémon Go’s core virtues as it’ll encourage players to interact with each other, both in virtual and real worlds.

Interactions with Pokestops and Gyms will also receive some new features as they currently exist in their “very, most basic versions.” In future updates, players will be given the ability to customize how they function in other ways. Global leaderboards, improvements to the AR feature, and even talk of expanding to dedicated AR devices have also been mentioned.
