Alyssa is a staff photojournalist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. No matter her surroundings, she strives to create impactful images of the people and places within a community. She enjoys challenging her visual perspective with daily assignments but finds the most joy in working on long term narrative projects that focus on the intersectionality of race, class, culture, geography and gender. Alyssa graduated from Western Kentucky University's photojournalism program. Prior to working for the AJC, Alyssa worked as a visual journalist for Creative Loafing Atlanta, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Louisville Courier-Journal and the Chicago Tribune.
