Tiger Woods got an early look at the Atlanta Athletic Club, site of next week’s PGA Championship, with a practice round on Monday. The course was closed to member play as preparations for golf’s last major championship of the year continue.

Woods committed to play in the final major on Friday, making the announcement on his website. Woods will play this week at the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio. Bridgestone represents his first tournament appearance since May 9, when he withdrew with knee and Achilles' heel injuries after nine holes of the Players Championship.

Event tickets are available at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Practice round and tournament tickets can be purchased online at www.pga2011.com or by calling 1-800-PGA-GOLF (742-4653).

A ticket purchase entitles the buyer to four free tickets for children under 17. Also, active and retired military personnel are eligible for complimentary tickets; a valid ID is required and tickets can be obtained at the admissions sales and will call office located at the main spectator entrance. Military personnel can also purchase an accompanying ticket at the will call office. That ticket entitles them to four free under-17 tickets, even if the day is sold out.
