Who will UGA turn to as defensive coordinator?

Names mentioned as Georgia seeks a new defensive coordinator to replace Todd Grantham, who left for Louisville.

CBS reported that Houston defensive coordinator David Gibbs has been contacted about the position. Gibbs has NFL coaching experience. He also was Auburn’s defensive coordinator in 2005.

Georgia linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti may be the top candidate on the current defensive staff.

Some fans would like to see former Georgia defensive back Kirby Smart return to Athens, but he's entrenched at Alabama, highly paid, and likely only to leave for a head coaching job.

Veteran coach Ed Orgeron left Southern Cal when he didn't get the head coaching job.

Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi likely is only interested in a head coaching job.

Georgia defensive line coach Chris Wilson is well respected. He was a defensive coordinator at Mississippi State.

Gene Chizik is an unlikely candidate but he was a successful defensive coach at several stops before leading Auburn to the national title.
