Why they can contend: Spurred by guard Reggie Hamilton, the Golden Grizzlies play at a frenetic pace, averaging 85.6 points per game, second in the NCAA. They've shown they can play with power-conference teams and they have an NBA prospect in center Keith Benson. Something else worth noting isKampe called this team his best team at Oakland. Kampe has been at Oakland 27 years and will make his third NCAA trip in seven years. First-round opponent Texasgoes hard at the glass and defends well but is thin on experience and is 4-4 in its last eight games. Fun fact: The actor who played Freddy Krueger and David Hasselhoff attended Oakland, located in suburban Detroit.
