Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is pleased with where he landed on the 2018 NFL 100.

In an interview with the NFL Network, Gurley—  who was voted to the No. 6 spot on this year’s ranking— spoke of how much he worked last season after being unranked on the 2017 list.

“My rookie year I think I was 22 and then didn’t make it my second year, so I just knew I had to be able to work hard and come back and take what’s mine,” Gurley said.

The former Georgia running back, who totaled 1,212 total yards and six touchdowns last season, showed improvement in his third year with the Rams, rushing for 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns and receiving for 788 yards and six touchdowns.

Gurley, who was named the Offensive Player of the Year and came in second in League MVP voting last season, also attributed his success in 2017 to Rams coach Sean McVay who put many Rams players in opportunities to be successful.

McVay was hired as the Rams coach last season after three seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins.
