Twitter reacts: NFL owners approve new national anthem policy

NFL owners unanimously approved a new national anthem policy that requires players and team personnel to stand if they are present on the field during the national anthem.

The policy, voted on during the NFL owners meetings in Atlanta, also gives the players the choice to stay in the locker room during the performance.

After the news of the new policy broke on social media, Twitter users -- including the NFL Players' union -- immediately reacted to the news, making the terms anthem, the NFL, and the name Roger Goodell trend on the platform.
