Almost two weeks after Florida announced coach Jim McElwain will not return as coach, Florida lost a 4-star commit.

Metairie, La. wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase announced on Twitter Wednesday night that his commitment is now open after he rescinded his commitment from Florida.

Chase verbally committed to Florida on July 23.

“At this time, I am decommittig from the University of Florida and opening back up my recruiting process... I realized that I can't make everyone happy and this will affect a lot of people, however I have to dow hat's best for my family and me,” Chase wrote in part.

Chase, a 6-foot-1, 295 pound senior at Archbishop Rummel, is ranked No. 266 on 2018 ESPN 300.

Radi Nabulsi of GeorgiaSports.com reported Chase is expected to visit Athens the weekend of Nov. 18.
