Kennesaw State athletic director Vaughn Williams said he is in touch everyday with men’s basketball coach Lewis Preston about his well-being, but there is no timetable for his return to the sidelines. Preston didn’t return a text message.
The university announced last week that Preston was taking a leave for personal and medical reasons. Preston is in his third year coaching the team. Williams declined to provide any more details on Preston’s absence or medical issue.
Assistant Jimmy Lallathin was promoted to interim coach. The Owls were beaten 71-55 by East Tennessee State on Saturday in Lallathin’s first game to fall to 3-13 this year. Kennesaw State will host USC-Upstate at 7 p.m. tonight.
