The Golf Channel reported on Monday that he has withdrawn from the event.

Woods hasn't played since August 2015, and the former world No. 1 has undergone two back surgeries since then.

While some might still be holding out hope he can return to the form that once made him not only a dominant golfer, but also a dominant figure on the sports landscape, that seems to be out of the question at this point.

Even the likelihood he becomes a tour regular seems to diminish more all the time.
