Deshaun Watson, of Gainesville High, is the second quarterback from Georgia taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Cam Newton, of Westlake, was the first in 2011.

Former Gainesville High School quarterback Deshaun Watson has started working for the 2018 NFL season.

The Houston Texans quarterback who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in November posted a video on Twitter Monday of him running for the first time since the injury.

“Officially day 1 of the 2018 NFL season today.. and today is officially my first day back running!” Watson wrote. “Crazy how God works! Gotta have it ALL! “

After throwing for 1,597 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions in an impressive rookie campaign, the Texans went 1-8 after Watson was finished for the season.
