On Wednesday, coach Mark Fox announced guard Teshaun Hightower— originally from Lithonia — signed his national letter-of-intent to play at Georgia next season.
Hightower, a 6-foot-5 senior at Mt. Zion Prep School in Baltimore, Md., committed to Georgia in January.
“We’re excited to add another talented Georgia native to our roster,” Fox said. “Teshaun has great speed and quickness and the versatility to play a couple of different positions.”
Hightower, a 3-star, is the third player to sign a letter-of-intent to play for Georgia next season joining Greenville, S.C., forward Nicolas Claxton and Norcross forward Rayshaun Hammonds.
Hightower attended Collins Hill High School during his junior season and was named to the first-team All-Region 7-AAAAAA and first-team All-Gwinnett County by the Gwinnett Daily Post for his performance in the 2015-2016 season. As an Eagle, Hightower averaged 14.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
With Mt. Zion, Hightower averaged 19.6 points, seven assists and 6.2 rebounds this season and was named the Warriors’ Most Valuable Player of the season.
