John Isner will try for his sixth BB&T Atlanta Open tournament title as he has committed to play in the event this summer, it was announced Sunday night. Isner, who played collegiately at Georgia, is the defending and a five-time champion of the tennis event. He is currently ranked No. 9 in the world.

This year’s BB&T Open will be July 20-28 at Atlanta Station. The event will open with an exhibitions between Andy Roddick and Robby Ginepri and Venus Williams and Madison Keys.

Isner is 31-4 at the BB&T and the even represents five of his 14 career tournament titles.

“It’s the perfect way to start the summer, to play in Georgia and to compete at the BB&T Atlanta Open where I feel at home and have had so much success,” Isner said in a statement. “I can’t wait to get back on court at Atlantic Station, in front of all those supportive tennis and Bulldog fans.”
