University of Tennessee running back John Kelly was cited for possession of marijuana, according to a report Wednesday by WATE.

Tennessee linebacker Will Ignont was a passenger in Kelly's car when the two were stopped on Cumberland Avenue in Knoxville at 10:46 p.m. on Tuesday night after an officer pulled the football players over for a headlight out, according to WATE.

Officers found a clear plastic bag of a substance that was believed to be 4.6 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe in the center console, according to the police report.

Neither players claimed the items, according to the police report.

“We are aware of the incident and are looking into it. We have no further comment at this time," Tennessee athletics said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon, according to WATE.

Kelly has accounted for 615 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his junior season with the Volunteers.
