NASHVILLE - Armed with a double-digit first-half lead, Georgia Tech couldn’t make it stick.

A collapse on both ends of the floor did in the Yellow Jackets Saturday in a 76-63 loss to Vanderbilt. Tech led 31-17 with 6:09 remaining in the first half and was in position to score a decisive win over the Commodores.

However, Tech stumbled from that point on. The Jackets had shot 14-for-26 to that point but made 11 of its last 39 shots over the final 26 minutes. They also committed nine of their 11 turnovers in that span.

The flurry of misses and turnovers often left Tech vulnerable to Vanderbilt’s transition game. Vanderbilt shot 13-for-22 in the second half, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range.

Tech’s three-game winning streak came to an end. The Jackets will finish the non-conference schedule Dec. 29 at Charlotte. Vanderbilt improved to 7-3.

Center Daniel Miller led Tech with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
