According to Spyder Active Sports, the company that designed the Alpine ski team suits, the colors are meant to represent the reflection of the U.S. flag on Chesapeake Bay following the bombardment of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. The bombardment witnessed by Francis Scott Key inspired the lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner."

U.S. women's hockey goalie Jessie Vetter, of Cottage Grove, Wis., won an NCAA title with the Badgers. She was a member of the U.S. team that won silver in 2010 at the Vancouver Games.

U.S. halfpipe snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, of Toledo, Ohio, is a four-time X Games gold medalist. She won silver for Team USA in the 2006 Games in Torino.

U.S. cross country skier Andy Newell, of Bennington, Vermont, was a member of the 2006 Olympics squad, placing 16th in freestyle sprint - best U.S. Olympic men's sprint result - in Torino.

Former U.S. Olympics champion Kristi Yamaguchi, who won gold in 1992 in women's single figure skating, was a commentator in 2010.
