Study: Which NFL playoff team's fans are 'most polite' on social media?

The Carolina Panthers fans are the most polite on social media, according to Proofpoint Nexgate, a brand research and cyber-security company.

With the Super Bowl coming up on Sunday, football trash-talking is heating up on TV, and especially on social media sites.

Proofpoint Nexgate researchers analyzed the social media presence of the 12 2015 NFL playoff-contending teams to discover the most active fans, the most profane and the most targeted by scammers.

The Panthers ranked No. 1 of the playoff teams with the most polite fans.

The Denver Broncos came in second, followed by the Seattle Seahawks.

The playoff team with the most active fans was the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the Green Bay Packers, according to the study.

The study showed that the Pittsburgh Steelers have the most profane fans of all the playoff teams.

The NFL playoff team most targeted by scams, malicious links and malware on Facebook was also the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the New England Patriots.
