The Silverbacks are staying in Atlanta for at least one more year.

The North American Soccer League will own and operate the team for at least one more year while it searches for an ownership group to keep the franchise in metro Atlanta. The franchise was put up for sale by its previous ownership group following another disappointing season.

A North American Soccer League spokesman said the league believes the franchise can succeed as one of two soccer teams in Atlanta, along with the MLS team.

The Silverbacks will again play at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.

It will be the only NASL-owned team.
