Here are a few things to know on Thursday:

1. Braves split doubleheader with Rangers

The Atlanta Braves lost the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader 12-8 to the Texas Rangers, but won the second, 5-4. The Braves finished with a 9-11 interleague record. Thursday's games also marked the first time since 2014 Atlanta wasn't swept by the Rangers. The Braves start a four-game series against the Marlins on Thursday night at SunTrust Park.

2. Clinton Lynch expected to return for Jacksonville State game

After missing the season opener against Tennessee, Georgia Tech A-back Clinton Lynch is expected to return from a lower body injury on Saturday to play Jacksonville State. Ken Sugiura has more.

3. Four Falcons out against Bears

The Atlanta Falcons listed running back Brian Hill (ankle) among four Falcons who will not play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The other three players who are out can be read on the AJC.com.

4. Georgia Southern game moved from Statesboro

Add Georgia Souther to the list of the several teams to move or postpone games this weekend. The school announced on Wednesday this weekend's game will be moved from Statesboro to Birmingham. Admission to the game will be free.

5. Matt Ryan is old school

D. Orlando Ledbetter reports on how Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan prefers to prepare for games with handwritten notes instead of using his iPad.
