Here’s a few things to know on Friday:

1. Braves beat Nationals

The Atlanta Braves won the first game of a four-game series at the Washington Nationals 5-2 on Thursday night.  Freddie Freeman was back at first base for the Braves win after trying his hand at third earlier this week. The Braves play the next game against the Nationals on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. from Washington D.C.'s Nationals Park.

2. Atlanta United has the weekend off

Atlanta United's next match will be on July 21 against Orlando City at Orlando City Stadium. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN.

3. Former offensive coordinators sue Georgia Southern for breach of contract

Former Georgia Southern co-offensive coordinators David Dean and Rance Gillespie each filed a lawsuit against against several Georgia Southern employees including coach Tyson Summers and athletic direction Tom Kleinlein alleging breach of contract.

4. Braves tweet about bizarre rain delay 

Thursday night's game between the Braves and Nationals was delayed over three hours due to fear of inclement weather, but there was no rain. The Braves and fans took to Twitter while waiting for the game to start to express frustration.

5. Hawks' Tim Hardaway Jr. signs offer sheet from Knicks

Chris Vivlamore reports Tim Hardaway Jr. signed an offer sheet from the New York Knicks on Thursday and the Hawks have until about 11 p.m. on Saturday to match the offer. The restricted free agent would be paid $71 million over four years with the Knicks.
