Here are a few things to know on Friday:

1. Hawks lose to Cavaliers

After winning their first matchup of the season, the Atlanta Hawks lost Thursday night’s game to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 121-114. Michael Cunningham writes his observations about the loss. Rookie John Collins started at center for the Hawks after starting center Dewayne Dedmon was diagnosed with a left tibia stress reaction. 

2. Mark Richt talks Miami, Georgia and more

Steve Hummer sat down with Miami coach Mark Richt to discuss his former life coaching the Georgia Bulldogs and his new life with the Hurricanes. 

3. Braves trade Johnson to Angels

The Atlanta Braves traded right-handed reliever Jim Johnson to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday in exchange for minor league pitcher Justin Kelly. More details on the AJC.com. 

4. Take McKinley picking up speed

Matt Winklejohn reports Atlanta Falcons rookie pass rusher Takk McKinley’s play is picking up speed.
