  • Florida, which is in its first three-game losing streak since 1988, is No. 91 in the country in offense and is ninth in the SEC, ahead of only LSU, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. "There's enough blame to go everywhere," coach Urban Meyer said after a 10-7 loss to Mississippi State. ... Offensive problems included failing to convert two fourth downs, missing two field goals and fumbling inside Mississippi State's 20. ... QB John Brantley completed passes to nine receivers in the loss.

Kentucky

Next game: vs. Georgia, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, CSS

  • Kentucky is No. 119 out of 120 FBS (formerly Division I) teams in red zone defense, having given up 19 TDs and five FGs in opponents' 25 trips this season for a success rate of 96 percent. ... LB Qua Huzzie (LaGrange) is out with an injured ankle and TB Derrick Locke, the team's leading rusher, is day-to-day with a shoulder stinger. ... Freshman K Joe Mansour (LaGrange) leads the SEC with 14 touchbacks.

South Carolina

Next game: at Vanderbilt, 7 p.m. Saturday, FSSO

  • Coach Steve Spurrier said RB Marcus Lattimore, who has rushed for 538 yards and 10 TDs, might miss Saturday's game with a sprained left ankle that he injured in a loss to Kentucky. Kenny Miles (Brookwood) would start in Lattimore's place. ... QB Stephen Garcia, whose 382 yards passing against Kentucky was the eighth-highest total in school history, became the sixth Gamecock to surpass 5,000 career passing yards. ... The Gamecocks lead the SEC and are No. 2 in the country with 22 sacks.

Tennessee

Next game: vs. Alabama, 7 p.m. Saturday, ESPN

  • Coach Derek Dooley isn't sure when, but he wants to play freshman QB Tyler Bray in the first half against Alabama. Bray was 8-for-12 for 81 yards against Georgia's backups in the second half of the Bulldogs' 41-14 victory on Oct. 9. ... Tennessee QBs have been sacked a SEC-high 23 times, followed by Alabama at 21. ... The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported that G Jarrod Shaw could play center against Alabama if G Jer'Quari Schofield (foot) returns. Shaw would replace Darin Gooch, who replaced Cody Pope (stinger).

Vanderbilt

Next game: vs. South Carolina, 7 p.m. Saturday, FSSO

  • LB Chris Marve, who had three tackles against Georgia after missing a game (knee), is trying to become the first SEC player with 100 tackles in three consecutive years since former Vanderbilt LB Jamie Winborn (1998-2000). Marve has 42 with six games remaining. ... The Commodores have won three of the past four games against South Carolina, including a 24-17 victory in Nashville in 2008. ... Only six FBS teams have played more freshmen than Vanderbilt, which has played 13 this season.

WEST DIVISION

Alabama

Next game: at Tennessee, 7 p.m. Saturday, ESPN

  • Al.com reported that OT D.J. Fluker could miss Saturday's game with a groin injury and that QB Greg McElroy's throwing hand was stepped on during the win over Mississippi, but that he will play against Tennessee. ... Alabama will have a week off after playing the Vols, which will be the Crimson Tide's eighth consecutive game. ... Alabama hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 41 games, dating to Oct. 13, 2007.

Arkansas

Next game: vs. Mississippi, 12:21 p.m. Saturday, WPCH

  • QB Ryan Mallett told reporters that he's "100 percent, ready to go" for Saturday. Mallett suffered a concussion against Auburn and backup Tyler Wilson finished the game, throwing four TD passes. ... A Fayetteville, Ark., eye doctor is offering free laser surgery to the officials who worked Auburn's 65-43 victory over Arkansas, saying in a release that "Errors and incorrect calls from the game could have possibly been avoided with better vision." ... Arkansas is second in the SEC and eighth in the NCAA in sacks, with 3.17 per game.

Auburn

Next game: vs. LSU, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, CBS

  • QB Cameron Newton's (Westlake) love of offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's system is evidenced by his success. "You go in and think 'What's he got up his sleeve this week?'" Newton told al.com on Tuesday. Newton leads the FBS with 25 TDs, one shy of the Auburn single-season mark. ... Newton is assaulting the Auburn record books. He is the only player in school history to rush for at least 170 yards in three straight SEC games and his four 170-yard games in one season matches Bo Jackson's feat in 1985. ... The Tigers are No. 15 in the nation against the run, allowing 101.7 yards a game.

LSU

Next game: at Auburn, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, CBS

  • Both QBs – Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee – have directed LSU to wins over Auburn. Lee won at Auburn in 2008 and Jefferson showed the Tigers to a win last year at home. Lee led LSU on four TD drives against McNeese State last Saturday, but Jefferson likely will start, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported. ... LSU is eighth in the nation in total defense (242.1), sixth in rushing (83.6), eighth in passing (158.6) and 11th in scoring (14.4), leading the SEC every category but scoring defense. Alabama leads at 12.9 points. ... No LSU players were selected for the weekly SEC awards for the first time this season. The SEC selects winners in six categories every week.

Mississippi

Next game: at Arkansas, 12:21 p.m. Saturday, WPCH

  • Coach Houston Nutt said the Rebels will prepare as if Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett will play. Mallett suffered a concussion in the loss to Auburn, but has said he'll play Saturday. ... The Rebels are second in the SEC in rushing at 215.5 yards a game behind TB Brandon Bolden's 91.7-yard average. Auburn leads with 283.7. ... Former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli is ninth in the SEC in passing (155.5 yards) and ninth in passing efficiency (122.7) with seven TDs and six interceptions.

Mississippi State

Next game: vs. UAB, 7 p.m. Saturday, ESPNU

  • Sophomore CB Corey Broomfield is tied for the national lead with three TDs on interception returns in his career, which also is a school record. He had two last year and one this season. ... SS Charles Mitchell, who is third on the team with 48 tackles, is day-to-day with a concussion he suffered against Florida. ... Mississippi State is ranked No. 24 in both polls, the first time since Sept. 21, 2001, that the Bulldogs have been in either poll. They also are No. 24 in the first BCS standings of the season.
