Highlights of the SEC 2011 football schedule

The SEC has released its composite football schedule for 2011 with all teams eyeing the title game in Atlanta Dec. 3 and the league's championship trophy.

Auburn, the SEC and BCS champion, will finish fifth in the SEC West in its first season without QB Cam Newton.

.... and new coach Will Muschamp could mean a lot in the SEC East standings. The Gators open their SEC schedule at home against Tennessee and face a daunting three-week stretch in October against Alabama, LSU and Auburn.

Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks will look to return to the SEC title game as the East representative, and the conference schedule begins - as always - with the battle against UGA, this time in Athens. The Nov. 12 matchup against Florida ....

.... might be the Nov. 5 home game vs. LSU, which will likely start the season ranked among the top 5. The Tigers have an extremely tough opener against Oregon at Cowboys Stadium in Texas and will open their SEC schedule at Mississippi State. Kentucky, Florida and Auburn play in Baton Rouge and the Tigers travel to West Virginia and Tennessee before the Alabama game.
