After being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, running back Alvin Kamara set several rookie records, according to Pro Football Focus.

Since 2006, Kamara’s performance last season ranked first among rookies in yards per carry (6.1), yards after contact per carry (3.83), receiving yards per route run (2.81) and Pro Football Focus’ elusive rating (108.5).

As a complement to running back Mark Ingram in the Saints’ backfield, Kamara— the NFL offensive rookie of the year— rushed for 728 yards and eight touchdowns and received for 826 yards and five touchdowns.

Kamara, a Norcross High School graduate, spent two seasons at the University of Tennessee before being drafted by the Saints.
