As of Monday morning, Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien has not named a starting quarterback for Thursday night’s game at the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the Texans will name rookie Deshaun Watson starter over quarterback Tom Savage.

Savage, a four-year veteran out of Pittsburgh, played the entire first half in Saturday’s regular season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, throwing 7-for-13 for 62 yards. Watson played the second half and threw 12-for-23 for 102 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Watson scored his first NFL touchdown on the first drive of the second half.

A former Gainesville High School quarterback, Watson was drafted by the Texans with the 12th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Clemson.

Here’s a clip of Watson’s first NFL touchdown during Sunday’s 29-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
