There were six matches as part of Thursday’s play at the BB&T Atlanta Open. Here’s a look at the results from the four singles showdowns and the two doubles matches.

Singles

No. 2 Nick Kyrgios (Australia) defeated Jared Donaldson (USA) 7-6 (4), 6-3: Kyrgios moves on to the quarterfinals after winning a match that was delayed nearly two hours due to rain. Kyrgios and Donaldson battled back and forth in the first set, which needed a tiebreaker. Kyrgios jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the tiebreak and carried over the first set victory to a smooth showing in the second set to advance. Kyrgios faces No. 5 Fernando Verdasco on Friday.

Yoshihito Nishioka (Japan) defeated No. 4 Alexandr Dolgopolov (Ukraine) 6-3, 2-6, 6-1: Nishioka looked in trouble after a strong second set from Dolgopolov, whose serve gave the 20-year-old Nishioka fits. However, Nishioka buckled down in the third set and took control to advance. He plays Horacio Zeballos in the first match on Friday.

No. 5 Fernando Verdasco (Spain) defeated Julien Benneteau (France) 6-1, 6-3: Verdasco improved to 5-0 against Benneteau after winning a match in which he faced no break points. Verdasco wasted little time, finishing off the Frenchman in 58 minutes. He takes on No. 2 Nick Kyrgios on Friday.

Horacio Zeballos (Argentina) defeated Tobias Kamke (Germany) 6-1, 6-4: Zeballos took care of Kamke in the first set of the match and was able to outlast the 30-year-old in the second set to close out the match. Zeballos battles Yoshihito Nishioka in Friday's noon match.

Doubles

Purav Raja & Divij Sharan (India) defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov & Sergiy Stakhovsky (Ukraine) via walkover: The withdrawal of Marray and Shamasdin means the Raja and Sharan duo advance to their third consecutive ATP 250 semifinals. They play the winner of Friday's match of Atlanta natives Chris Eubanks and Zack Kennedy versus Andres Molteni and Horacio Zeballos

Marcelo Demoliner (Brazil) & Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeated Jonathan Marray (Great Britain) & Adlil Shamasdin (Canada) 6-4, 6-2: Demoliner and Garcia-Lopez took care of business with two quick set victories. They will play the winner of Friday's match featuring Johan Brunstrom & Andreas Silijestrom against Nicholas Monroe and Artem Sitak.
