Atlanta Motor Speedway and the American Red Cross will team up for another blood drive, it was announced Tuesday.

The blood drive will be held on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Tara Ballroom within the AMS Condo Building at 1500 Tara Place in Hampton. The event will be the second held by the entities for blood donations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The track hosted a blood drive earlier this month.

"With the success of our April blood drive, it only makes sense to work with the American Red Cross to give more people an opportunity to give lifesaving blood," AMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Brandon Hutchison said in a statement.
Donations for the blood drive will be done by appointment only by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767. To prepare to give blood, the Red Cross recommends donors eat iron-rich meals and drink plenty of water. A photo ID will also be needed upon arrival.

Each donor will receive a discount coupon to the AMS Gift Shop and photos with the AMS pace car.
