The roles within Atlanta United’s academy are taking shape.

Richard Money, the academy director, will coach the team’s Under-18 squad. The group is scheduled to begin training in late July.

Tony Annan, the academy manager, will coach the team’s Under-16 squad. The group is scheduled to begin training in August.

All of the teams will begin playing games in September.

Coaches for the other age groups (U12, 13, 14) have been hired, but club president Darren Eales and Money declined to discuss the hires because the human resources processes aren’t complete.

Eales said they want a diverse coaching staff, so each hire will bring a different set of skills so that the staff will be well-rounded.
