The Braves challenged the call, but it stood up under review and the Yankees took a 4-3 lead into the seventh inning.

The Braves paid tribute to Hall of Fame pitcher Phil Niekro Tuesday before and during their Truist Park contest against the Yankees. Flowers were placed beside Niekro's statue outside the third base gate before the game.

Chase Niekro, the grandson of Hall of Famer Phil Niekro, threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Tuesday's Braves-Yankees game at Truist Park. Niekro, a member of the Braves and National Baseball Halls of Fame, died Dec. 27, 2020 at the age of 81.

Charlie Morton got the start for the Braves in Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
