Morehouse’s Brewer, Walker honored by SIAC
Morehouse senior Tyrius Walker and coach Grady Brewer have been named player and coach of the year by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
Walker, a graduate of Atlanta’s Grady High School, led the Maroon Tigers and the SIAC in scoring at 23.7 points per game. Brewer led Morehouse to a 24-1 regular-season record and the SIAC Eastern Division title.
Morehouse will play its first game in the SIAC tournament Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. (CST) against the winner of the Miles-Fort Valley first-round game.
Clark Atlanta's Akil Douglas earned second-team All-SIAC honors and will lead the Panthers into their first SIAC tournament game Thursday against the Kentucky State-Albany State winner.
