Columbia Fireflies outfielder Tim Tebow was promoted to the class-A advanced St. Lucie Mets on Sunday.

The former Heisman-trophy winner recorded a .222 batting average with three home runs, 23 RBIs and 69 strikeouts in 212 at-bats for the Fireflies.

Tebow was promoted to the Mets’ St. Luice team in Florida after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Kannapolis Intimidators.

"I obviously love Florida, so this is nice," Tebow said, according to ESPN. "But the goal and focus is improving as a baseball player."

Tebow has been part of the Mets’ organization since signing a Minor League contract in September.
