Atlanta United's daily season ticket sales average doubled within the past 24 hours, which is when the club announced that Argentina's Gerardo Martino would be its first manager.

A club spokesman declined to say what the daily average is, or how many season tickets the club has now sold. The total used by club president Darren Eales in Martino’s introductory press conference on Wednesday was 22,000.

Martino said the number of season tickets sold was one of the many reasons that he was excited about the job opportunity.

The club announced in August that it had surpassed 22,000 season tickets sold, which is believed to be an MLS record for an expansion club.
