Atlanta's MLS franchise won't start play at the new Falcons stadium until 2017. When it does, it joins a league that averages 18,154 fans per game. Here's a look at the top 10 teams in attendance this season:

An average crowd of 17,414 packs PPL Park in Chester, Pa., to cheer on the Philadelphia Union. The MLS's sixteenth team, the Union joined the league in 2010.

The 2013 MLS Cup champions entertain an average of 19,735 fans at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan., this season.

Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, holds 20,213 fans. An average 19,947 Real Salt Lake fans support the team from the seats this season.

The Portland Timbers claim to have the longest waiting list for season tickets of any other MLS franchise. Providence Park in Portland seats 20,814 fans on average this season.

The Houston Dynamo moved BBVA Compass Stadium in 2012, packing 20,922 fans on average this season. The Dynamo won the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cups.

Canada's first MLS playoff team, the Vancouver Whitecaps, average 21,000 fans at B.C. Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The first MLS franchise in Canada, the Toronto FC, packs in 22,591 on average this seaosn at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Galaxy used played their home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., but have played at the StubHub Center in Carson, since 2003. The Galaxy, which share the venue with rival Chivas USA, pack in about 23,240 per game this season.

About 23,530 fans pack Saputo Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on average to cheer on the Montreal Impact.

The Sounders, the league's 15th team began play in the 2009 season at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. The team is averaging 38,716 fans - the most of any other franchise - this season.
