Kennesaw State announced the hiring of Ossie Buchannon as wide receivers coach on Friday.

Buchannon was the wide receivers coach at Berry College from 2013-2016 as well as special teams coordinator from 2014-2016.

"I am so excited and grateful to be joining the Kennesaw State family," Buchannon said in a statement released by Kennesaw State. "I've been following the growth of this program since the beginning. I'm confident that with Coach Bohannon's leadership, and the continued support of the administration, the Owls have a very bright future."

Buchannon, who played college football at Samford University from 2001-2005, also served as academic coordinator at Berry College.

"We're excited to add Ossie to our staff," coach Brian Bohannon said in the statement. "We were looking for someone with the ability to develop the talented student-athletes we have at wide receiver, and Ossie is the perfect fit. He's a good fundamentals coach, with strong ties to the southeast having coached and played in this part of the country. He was a talented receiver at Samford and it's important to have members of our staff that have played at this level."

Buchannon coached defensive backs from 2009-2013 at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. before coaching at Samford.
