Former Kennesaw State defensive back Derrick Farrow signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League over the weekend.

Farrow, from Cochran, Ga., is the second Owl to sign with a professional team after former Kennesaw State defensive back Dante Blackmon signed with the Indianapolis Colts in mid-May after a tryout at the Colts' rookie mini-camp.

Farrow’s signing was announced by his agency Allied Sports on Sunday.

"I'm thrilled to see Derrick to sign with Montreal," Kennesaw State coach Brian Bohannon said in a statement released by the University. "He was an important part of the development of our program and had a great career in the two years he played for us.

“Derrick was a leader, and took care of his business in the classroom and on the field. I'm proud to see him sign a pro contract and I'm confident he will represent Kennesaw State well.”

In his career with the Owls, Farrow recorded 110 career tackles, forced five fumbles and two interceptions. Farrow spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at East Central Community College before transferring to Kennesaw State.
