Former Atlanta Brave Jeff Francoeur took the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday night.

You read that right. The outfielder got called in to pitch.

With the Baltimore Orioles beating the Phillies 17-3, Francoeur entered the game to start the seventh inning. And he looked pretty good, in the seventh anyway. The former Parkview High School star struck out Nolan Reimold with a 79 mph changeup for the first out. That was followed by a ground out and line out. It was the Phillies first 1-2-3 inning of the game.

The bad news is, "Frenchy" came back in to pitch the eighth inning, too. Ryan Flaherty opened the eighth with a home run. Francoeur hit Caleb Joseph with a pitch. Following a fly out, he walked two batters to load the bases.

With the phone to the bullpen off the hook, the Phillies didn't have anyone throwing to take his place.

Francoeur gave up a sac fly, a walk and eventually got out of the inning with a fly out.

He ended up throwing 48 pitches, allowed two runs, one hit and three walks to go along with one strikeout.
