Nearly 1,000 athletes from some 30 schools will compete Saturday in what has quickly become one of the premiere late season track and field events in Georgia, the Westlake Chick-fil-A at Camp Creek Relays. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. at Westlake High School. Along with the host Lions, other top teams scheduled to compete include Athens Christian, Chapel Hill, Griffin, Kell, Miller Grove and Stephenson. Admission is $5.

Dunwoody and Southwest DeKalb walked away with the respective boys and girls titles at the DeKalb County championships this week. It was the first title for Dunwoody, while the Southwest DeKalb girls claimed their fifth consecutive title and their 10th overall since the county started hosting the meet in 1977. Dunwoody was paced by junior sprinter Dazel Claytor, who won the 100- (10.92 seconds) and 200-meter (22.18) dashes, and senior distance runner James Dwyer, who won the 1,600- (4:24.30) and the 3,200-meter (9:41.74) runs. Southwest DeKalb senior Morgan Snow led the Panthers with wins in the 100-meter hurdles (14.36) and the triple jump (37-feet, 3 inches). ...
The Pope boys and Wheeler girls won the Cobb County championships. Pope was led by senior Miles Slay's win in the triple jump, while Wheeler claimed titles in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays. ... Union Grove swept the Henry County championships behind the efforts of junior sprinter Brianna Vaughn (100- and 200- meter champion) and junior hurdler Jordan Moore (110-meter hurdle title). ... In Fulton County, Westlake swept the championships as well. The girls were led by the 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams, while the boys 400-meter relay team took first. ... The Lovejoy boys and the Mundy's Mill girls won championships in Clayton County. The Collins sisters, Kenya, a sophomore, and Mia, a senior, placed first and second, respectively, in the 300-meter hurdles. Kenya also won the 100-meter hurdle title. Stanley McLaughlin won the 300-meter hurdles for Lovejoy. ... The Starr's Mill boys and Fayette County girls won the Fayette County championships. Stephen Andrews won the pole vault for Starr's Mill, while Amanda Trapp won titles in the 200 and 400 meters.
Golf
Milton's Kayla Jones shot a 73 to win the individual title at the White County Spring Swing last Saturday. Lambert won the team competition with a score of 152. Other top individual performers were Lambert's Sloan Shanahan (74) and So Jeong Lee (78), and West Forsyth's Isabella Skinner (81). Top team finishes were posted by Milton (160), West Forsyth (164) and Gainesville (175).
Gymnastics
Alpharetta remains undefeated this season. At last week's Westminster Invitational, the Raiders finished first in the bars, beam and floor events. Kelsey Kopec took first individually in the bars, beam and floor competitions. Other top performing teams included host Westminster, Central Forsyth, West Forsyth and Northview.
Lacrosse
The Lambert boys and Milton girls are ranked the top teams in Georgia, according to Laxpower.com. Lambert, in Forsyth County, is 8-1 in the school’s third year of existence. Milton is the defending Class A-AAAA champs and has won five state titles in the past six season. Other top teams in Georgia according to the website are the Westminster, McIntosh, Alpharetta and Northview girls, and the Northview, Milton, Walton and Harrison boys.
Tennis
The Mt. Pisgah girls continued their incredible season this week. The Patriots remained undefeated in individual matches (50-0) after downing Holy Innocents'. They are led by singles players Aryn Green, Taylor Carlson and Blanca Tarrago, and doubles pairs Nicole Peters and Cissy Jamieson and Sarah Capdelaine and Carlota Tarrago. ... The Alpharetta boys are having a solid season as well. The defending Class AAAAA champions are led by junior Anish Sharma, junior Sammy Jang-Milsten and senior Ian Zheng, and doubles pairs Daniel Hutchinson and Calvin Su, and Ritchie Wang and Danial Zheng.
