In Class 6A, No. 1 ranked Grayson validated its top status in a 77-68 win over No. 2 ranked Wheeler at the Tournament of Champions. Newton rose to No. 3 this week and defeated No. 8 South Gwinnett 55-50 to hand the Comets their first loss of the year. No. 5 Walton impressed at the Sandy’s Spiel Showdown against Mays and scored a 69-59 victory to improve to 8-0. Lambert rounds out the top 10 at No. 10 and is coming off a 78-67 victory over Class 3A No. 5 ranked Cherokee Bluff. In Class 5A, Winder-Barrow moved up to no. 4 after defeating No. 7 Gainesville 62-49.

Class 4A shifted with Southwest DeKalb climbing to No. 6 from No. 10 after an 8-0 start and huge 65-48 win over Class 2A No. 2 ranked Columbia. In Class 3A, Sandy Creek opened its season with a 3-0 start and 49-47 win over Hughes. The Class 2A poll replaced Thomson with Spencer at No. 10. In Class A-Div. I, Putnam County moved up to No. 2 after improving to 10-0 and Mt. Zion-Carroll replaced Portal at No. 9 in Class A Division II. In Class A-3A Private, No. 6 Mount Vernon defeated No. 7 St. Francis 83-81 in triple overtime.
