GHSF Daily provides game summaries of the 50 ranked teams each Monday, but that leaves out some top performances of some of Georgia's best players on unranked teams. Here are a few from last week:
Ben Emert, a running back at West Forsyth, rushed for 346 yards and six touchdowns against Flowery Branch. The week before, Emert ran for 275 yards and five touchdowns against Johnson of Gainesville. There are no records to verify whether 621 yards rushing or 11 touchdowns are a consecutive-game record. Unfortunately for Emert and West Forsyth, they lost to Flowery Branch 54-51 and probably won't make the playoffs.
Fedale Hall, a senior from Mount Pisgah Christian, rushed for 254 yards and four touchdowns in just the first 15 minutes of a 55-13 victory against Our Lady of Mercy last week. He scored on touchdown runs of 70, 72, 70 and 17 yards and called it a night. He has offers from Air Force and Richmond and is being recruited by Auburn, Georgia Tech and Clemson.
Keyante Greene of Eagle's Landing Christian Academy rushed for 230 yards, caught a pass for 74, returned a kickoff 50 yards and a punt 47 yards. That's 401 all-purpose yards. ELCA beat Landmark Christian 44-28. Greene is a freshman.
Storm Johnson, the Loganville running back who transferred from Buford, rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-25 victory over Monroe Area. Johnson, who is the top uncommitted running back in Georgia, has run for 1,351 yards and scored 22 touchdowns in eight games.
Richie Leone, a kicker for Roswell, made field goals of 40 and 42 yards, made six touchbacks on seven kickoffs and hit a 68-yard punt with no roll. The punt, from Roswell's 32-yard line, hit the Milton goal line. Leone is averaging 45.5 yards per punt. He's kicked 15 of 45 kickoffs beyond the end line and 20 others in the end zone for 35 touchbacks. He's made six of seven field-goal attempts.
