St. Pius volleyball coach John Frederick was honored for his 300th victory at the Catholic school last weekend.
The Golden Lions stopped Saturday’s matches for the players to present gifts to the veteran coach, who will be recognized by the school at Friday’s football game.
“I’m just happy for him,” St. Pius athletics director Mark Kelly said.
“John is a guy that deeply loves the kids and the sport of volleyball, and has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make our program what it is, along with increase the stature of volleyball in the state of Georgia.”
St. Pius, which finished as the state runner-up in Class AAAA last year, registered wins over Columbus, McIntosh, Starr’s Mill and Chattahoochee on Saturday.
