Legendary football coach George B. Maloof was remembered at memorial service at St. Pius X High School Thursday. Maloof died Oct. 4, 2009 at 79.

St. Pius X Catholic High School immortalized legendary football coach George B. Maloof, who died Oct. 4, 2009 at the age of 79.

Hundreds gathered to remember Maloof at Thursday's memorial service at the football field at St. Pius X Catholic High School.

Members of the St. Pius football team attended the service to pay their respect to Maloof, who coached the Lions from 1958-83.

Maloof's family members, including widow Anita Maloof (center, white shirt) and sons Keith Maloof (far right) and Kevin Maloof (far left, sunglasses) pay their respects. Keith Maloof is the head football coach at Norcross High School. Kevin Maloof is the head football coach and athletic director at Dacula High School.

Carl Hadden, of Duluth, signs in a guestbook. Hadden was a student of George Maloof in 1957 at Smith High School in Atlanta.

Maloof also coached the Henderson Cougars during his illustrious career.
