Northgate names Walburn head coach

Jan 5, 2010Tommy Walburn, who has built playoff teams at Troup and Crisp County this decade, is the new head coach of Northgate High in Coweta County.
Walburn previously coached in Coweta as an assistant at Newnan from 1997 to 1999, according to this story in the Times-Herald of Newnan.
Walburn resigned after four seasons at Crisp County, where his team was 5-5 last season. Walburn's best team was his first at Troup in 2001, when the Tigers reached the Class AAAA semifinals.
