Gainesville offensive coordinator Todd Wofford is expected to be named head coach at Central Gwinnett at a county school board meeting today.

Running Wofford's spread offense, Gainesville averaged 39.3 points per game on its way to a 14-1 record and runner-up finish in Class AAA last season. Wofford coordinated Gainesville's offense the past five seasons and coached all-state players such as Blake Sims and Tai-ler Jones.

"Like Gainesville, they've got a lot of tradition from back in the day," Wofford told the Gainesville Times. "Maybe not in the short term, but in three to four years, I can see it being one of the top schools."

Central Gwinnett was 5-15 the past two seasons under Ed Stokes.
