Former Norcross basketball star Al-Farouq Aminu pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to three misdemeanor charges connected with the March 14 BB gun shooting of a Gwinnett County woman.

2008: Aminu is named Georgia's Mr. Basketball by the AJC. The same day, he turns himself in to Gwinnett County authorities to face charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Al-Farouq Aminu (right) isn't the only hoops star in his family. Brother Alade (left) is a junior standout with the Ga. Tech Yellow Jackets. Mom Anjirlic (center) has had to raise her family alone since her husband left in 2006.

2007: Aminu slams a basket during the Blue Devils' first-round game against Wheeler of the Class AAAAA playoffs. Norcross won 64-63.

2004: Wesleyan freshman David Kaszycki, 15, paints up classmate Aminu, 13, as they prepare for a home football game against Greater Atlanta Christian. Aminu transferred from Wesleyan to Norcross in 2005.

2008: ESPN2's Mark Adams interviews Aminu after the Blue Devils' nationally-televised 59-48 win over Helen Cox (La.) at Norcross High Jan. 10.
