No. 1: Lowndes-Valdosta -- The series started in 1968. These two teams have combined for 14 state championships since then, and in 13 of those 14 seasons, the winner of the showdown usually won a state crown as well. Series record: Valdosta 33-14. Last game: Lowndes 14-7 (Oct. 10).
