Greater Atlanta Christian golfer Lindsay Adams let her emotions show on the final hole of her stellar high school career.

When Adams reached the No. 18 green at Monday's Class AA state tournament, she had tears streaming down her face after seeing family members and friends in the gallery.

The normally-unflappable Adams was so moved that she missed out on a birdie opportunity and needed three putts for bogey. However, Adams had such a big lead that she still easily won medalist honors, finishing with a 1-over-par 73 at Alpharetta Athletic Club's East Course.

GAC teammate Emee Herbert was runner-up at 78, while the Spartans also won the team title at 151, finishing far ahead of Westminster (177) and Jefferson (186).

"What a great way for Lindsay to end a career, with a team title," GAC coach Daniel Cline said. "She was part of state championship teams as a freshman and again as a senior. And she was the repeat medalist, also doing it last year. She had an amazing, amazing, amazing career."

Adams laughed about her final hole.

"Yes, there were tears, but they were happy tears," she said. "It did affect my putting, knowing it was last time out there for GAC. It has been a lot of fun over the years."

Class AAA boys: Columbus won the team championship at 284, followed by Elbert County (295) and Northside-Columbus (296). Columbus' Jonathan Klotz and Northside's Travis Oestmann tied for medalist honors, both posting 6-under 66s.

Class AAA girls: Oconee County swept the team title and medalist honors. Oconee finished at 150, edging Franklin County (153) and Lambert (164). Oconee's Yugene Lee turned in a 72 as the medalist, while runners-up Carrie Metz of Franklin County and Caitlin Watts of LaGrange each shot 74.
